At its core, Built Environs is defined by its ability to bring order to complexity. Through collaboration, technical expertise and disciplined delivery, they turn challenging briefs into built outcomes that endure. The new digital experience is designed to reflect exactly that.
As part of the broader brand evolution, we partnered with Tim Sutherland from StudioBrave, who led the brand vision and art direction of the video content. Showreel videos were produced by SIRAP, bringing a cinematic rhythm and energy to the brand expression, while new team and culture photography was captured by Lynton Crabb, adding a human and grounded perspective to the organisation. This combination of motion and still imagery helped establish a more expressive and authentic representation of Built Environs, which carries through into the digital experience and ensures a consistent narrative across every touchpoint.
Working with the existing logomark, we refined the visual language to better support clarity, flexibility and technical expression. This included an updated and more disciplined use of colour, the introduction of new typefaces to strengthen hierarchy and tone, and a refreshed illustration style that helps communicate ideas with greater simplicity and precision. We also introduced the use of CAD models as a key visual device, allowing users to better understand the complexity of each build in a simple, interactive and accessible way, particularly when presenting key case study projects. Together, these elements create a more cohesive and expressive identity system that aligns with the complexity of the work Built Environs delivers.
Working closely with the Built Environs team, we restructured the way their organisation, capabilities and project portfolio are experienced online. This alignment between brand, motion and digital experience ensures a cohesive system that supports both storytelling and clarity.
Projects are placed at the centre of the experience, given space to breathe, to tell their own story, and to communicate the nuance behind their delivery. From there, users are guided into the broader expertise, systems and thinking that make those outcomes possible.
The result is a digital platform that feels more aligned with the calibre of the work. A flexible, component-led design system supports depth and variety across content, while refined motion and interaction design bring clarity, rhythm and intent to the experience. Every detail is considered to ensure the work is not just seen, but understood.
The site does not just showcase what Built Environs delivers, it expresses how they operate: methodically, collaboratively, and with a clear focus on outcomes that matter.
